Our photographers came upon this bizarre incident which must give the term ‘double park’ a whole new meaning.

Police were called to reports of a car crash in Manchester city centre to discover a van perched ON TOP of a red Porsche sports car.

The smash took place shortly after 8am on Fairfield Street near the city’s main Piccadilly train station as shocked commuters looked on in disbelief.

The driver of the Porsche Cayman was initially feared to be trapped inside the vehicle, prompting emergency services to rush to the scene.

Fortunately, both drivers emerged without being seriously hurt, however the driver of the van was taken to hospital as a precaution after suffering a back injury.

The van, owned by local shop Barbakan Deli, was left with its rear wheels dangling over the roof of the £45,000 sports car.

Roads in the area were initially closed but were opened again shortly after 9am once both vehicles had been towed away. Maybe you took pictures of a more bizarre motoring mishap.
