Overweight bachelor Sebastian David went from bloated belly to bodybuilder in just seven months after ditching a £140-a-WEEK junk food habit.

Fire safety officer Sebastian, 28, had been affectionately dubbed Keith Lard after the portly Phoenix Nights jobsworth when he guzzled up to 5,000 calories each day in Greggs pasties, fry-ups and KFC chicken buckets.

But after his father passed away, Sebastian embarked on a strict fitness regime which saw him drop from 14 stone 6lb to just over 10-and-a-half stone.

He swapped the beer and burgers belly for a rippling six-pack and was soon encouraged by those at his local gym to try out for bodybuilding competitions.

And just 15 months after picking up weights for the first time in years, Sebastian, of Burnley, Lancs, finished seventh in a nationwide competition which then led to a slew of topless modelling offers - and now he has become one of Britain's most eligible singletons.

He said: ''I have to confess, it's strange being asked to model when I look at photos of myself from two years ago. But I'm not complaining. It's nice to get a bit of attention now and then.

"In a way, getting fat was a good thing, because I wouldn't be doing the stuff I am now without it. I didn't set out to compete in bodybuilding or do modelling, I just set out to get my body in shape and feel better but once I got going I kept reassessing my goals. I feel amazing now. I'm just happy to be happy and it's great being able to feel good about myself."

Cavendish Press' coverage of Sebastian's inspiring story went in the Daily Star, The Sun online and a string of newspaper websites. If you have a story please contact us on 0161 237 1066 or email [email protected]. We'd like to hear from you.
